finally, i taught it. recipe tested for weeks, updated my baking tool inventory, sourced my favorite ingredients and constructed the merit pins for my trusty scouts. class number one: girl scouts get fancy. we made howdy do's, latchkeys, skinny minties, tongas, and pioneers...with no hydrogenated oils, no corn syrups, no soy additives, nor preservatives...but plenty of love, laughter and chocolate hillbilly grills! held at the harbor house kitchen on a gray sunday afternoon, we filled the kitchen with our warmth...
when all else fails....i bake. already eagerly planning class number two for late may: baking science from the garden to the oven: spring desserts. puff pastry, pastry cream, fruit sauces...holla! whoo hoo! fifteen dollars. come, oakland, come!
